Forests - Sondarban


The Sundarbans is the largest and beautiful mangrove forest in the world. It located mostly in Bangladesh, a small part of it situated in India. The Bangladeshi part of the forest is estimated to be about 81%, while the Indian part is 19%. To the south the jungle meets the Bay of Bengal. It is beautiful jangle or beautiful forest so it is called “Sundarban”. There are many trees but Sundari trees are found in Sundarbans in large numbers. This beautiful forest is the living place of Royal Bengal Tiger, birds, spotted deer, crocodiles and snakes. There is much more wildlife here. Fishing Cats, Macaques, wild boars, Common Grey Mongooses, Foxes, Jungle Cats, Flying Foxes, and Pangolins are also found in the Sundarbans.

The beautiful forest plays an important role in the national economy of Bangladesh. It is the single largest source of raw materials for wood based industries. In addition to traditional forest produce. The beautiful mangrove forest “Sunderbans” provides a wonderful aesthetic attraction for local and foreign tourists.

Beautiful places of Hakaloki haor

The largest haor of Bangladesh is situated in Maulvi Bazar district. The size of this haor is about 20,400 hector. It contains about 47 major haors and more than 6,000 swamps or freshwater lakes, half of which are seasonal. During the dry season the swamps cover an area of approximately 4,500 ha. However, during the rainy season, the total area gets flooded, and the swamps are united as one large haor, with an area of approximately 20,400 hector. For this reason it is the largest haor in Bangladesh. Some 190,000 people live surrounding this haor area. Most of them are fisherman. They spent their lives to catch fish. Hakaluki Haor was designated an Ecologically Critical Area by the Director General of the Department of Environment, as the ecosystem is considered to have reached a critical state. In the middle time of November to February is the best time to travel this haor. In this time there come a lot of foreign birds.        
     Wide variety of waterfowl seen here is one of the main attractions. It also has become a significant site for bird watching.  About 200 kinds of bird are seen always here. Lesser Whistling Duck, Falcated Duck, Ruddy Shell Duck, Tufted Duck, Common Shell Duck, Cotton Pygmy Goose, Greylag Geese Northern Pintail, Northern Shoveller, Graganey, Blue-winged Teal, Mallard, Gadwall, Wigeon, Common Teal, Ferruginous Pochard, Common Pochard, Indian Pond Heron, Grey Heron, Cattle Egret, Asian Open bill, Common Coot, Marsh Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, Golden Plover, Wood Sandpiper, Brown-Headed Gull and Black-Headed Gull   are remarkable. They are looking so nice. They enrich the beauty of Hakaloki Haor. It`s natural beauty always attract the traveler.

Islam Mosque (Baba Adam's Mosque of Munshiganj)

The Munshiganj Mosque is one of the ancient mosques of Bangladesh. This mosque is also known as Baba Adam’s Mosque. Baba Adam’s Mosque bears the mature form of the sultanate mosque style of Bangladesh. This mosque shows all the decorative and architectural characteristics of the sultanate architecture of Bengal. It is situated in the village of Kazi Qasba under Rikabibazar Union in Rampal Thana of Munshiganj district. It is a six-domed mosque. The rectangular measures internally 10.35m x 6.75m and externally 14.30m x 11.45m; the thickness of the wall is about 2m. This mosque is divided into two aisles and three bays. Baba Adam's Mosque is roofed over by six uniform hemispherical domes. The mosque is built, but the freestanding pillars and engaged pilasters are made of stone. All the entrances and mihrabs are recessed within rectangular frames. The arches are supported on faceted small pillars and decorated with a beautiful terracotta floral design and a hanging motif. The construction of this mosque started in 1479 AD. Three years later the construction completed. An inscription, fixed above the central doorway in the east records 1483 AD/888AH as the date of construction of the mosque. Malik Kafur built it during the reign of Sultan Fath Shah. But it was familiar by the name of Baba Adam’s. He was an Islamic preacher in the time of King Ballal Sen. Baba Adam’s killed in a holy war by the king. There is a tomb known as Baba Adam’s Mazar besides the mosque. His dead-body was burial beside the mosque. It is difficult to ascertain the historicity of this tomb due to lack of authentic sources. There is a newly built small tomb structure situated on the south-east side of the courtyard of the mosque. Baba Adam’s is now a protected monument under the Department of Archaeology, Bangladesh. This is a nice historical place.

Village fair of Bangladesh



Village fair is an annual affair in Bangladesh and is a great event in the life of the villagers. It is generally held on the occasion of some religious festivals or some local important events. It is an occasion for show, sale of various goods and entertainments. It is held in some open place, either on the bank of river or in the yard of a temple. Some fair also sits in an open field under a big ancient tree. Or in the market place, or by the side of a big road.


A village fair is an occasion of great joy and excitement among the villagers. Village fair is a kind of exhibition in miniature of hand made things. The rural artisans and craftsmen make various useful articles which are brought to the fair and offered for sale. It thus acts like a market for cottage industries. Small traders come from far and near to sell their goods. They bring clothes of various kind, ready-made garments, cheap fancy goods, dolls, utensils, sweets and other things.
There are many forms of amusement in a village fair. Travelling jatra parties, Circus parties, magic shows, merry go rounds mockfights, jarigan (song) are additional attraction of a fair. Cinema parties also show picture to the people. But the largest crowd gathers around the place where jugglers show their feats. There are the dancing of dolls and feats of skill done on ropes and bamboos. Some of these are really wonderful.
A village fair is a much looked-for occasion for all. Everybody waits for this fair with hope and attends it with profound pleasure.

Dhakeshwari Temple


Dhakeshwari Temple is National Temple of Bangladesh. It is an oldest hindu temple in Dhaka. This temple is built by king Ballal sen in 12th century. He was the king of the Sena dynasty.
This Temple was harshly damaged during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. Half of the temple's buildings were shattered. The main worship hall was used as an ammunitions storage area of the Pakistan Army.
Dhakeshwari Temple is a heart of socio-cultural as well as spiritual movement. Every year, the biggest celebration of Durga puja, the most important event in the Bengali Hindu calendar in Dhaka is held at the National Temple.
Every year the Janmashthami procession starts from Dhakeshwari temple and then proceeds through the streets of  Dhaka .It is one of the most important events of the year, this occurs on the day of the Lord Krishna’s birthday .
Every day many devotees come and make offering to the goddess in Dhakeshwari Temple. Everybody can visit here any day.

Great Mosque - Bitul Mukarram (National Mosque of Bangladesh)


Bitul Mukarram Mosque is one of the Magnificent Mosque in Bangladesh. It is situated at capital city Dhaka, west of motijhil on topkhana rood. It is the national mosque in Bangladesh. Construction of baitul  Mukarram started on 27 January 1960 and completed in 1968. The area of the main prayer hall is 26,517 square feet. The hall is enclosed by verandas of three of its side. Now the mosque has a capacity of 40,000. Bitul Mukarram mosque is the 10th biggest mosque in the world. This is designed in the style of the holy Ka’abah at Mecca. The great architect, T Abdul Hussain Thariani designed the mosque complex.  Shops, offices, libraries, and parking areas included within the complex.
This beautiful modern mosque is National mosque of Bangladesh .whenever you want to visit Dhaka city, do not forget to set a visit at National mosque.

Ground zero Mosque (Star mosque)


Dhaka is the city of mosque in Bangladesh.There is many beautiful and historical mosques in Bangladesh. Star mosque is one of them. The mosque is familiar by name of Tara mosque. Star mosque is situated at armanitola area of old Dhaka. This mosque is well designed and decorated. There are many small and big blue stars in its wall. Honorable Mirza Gulam pir built this wonderful mosque in 19th century.
After time Ali Jan bepari, a local business man and social worker financed the renovation of the mosque and added a varandha in eastern side of star mosque. This addition made the mosque almost double in width. But this extension did not change its real design.
At the time of its construction it was three domed mosque. In 1987 three domed mosque was transformed in to five dome mosque. The ministry of religious affairs initiated to make additions to the prayer hall, which was extended to include two more domes.  After extension it has five arched entrances. The star mosque is beautifully preserved.  And even though additional and renovations of the mosque have been done. Most of original structure still stands. The star mosque is a great attraction in Dhaka city and the Islamic holy place.

The Memorial -- Jatiyo Smriti Soudho

National Martyrs' Memorial a great monument of Bangaldesh also call Jatiyo Sriti Soudho, is situated in savar.Jatiyo Sriti Soudho is the sign of heroism and the immolate of those slaughtered in the Liberation War of 1971, which brought the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan.
A prominent Bangladeshi sculptor Syed Mainul Hossain made a designed of Jatiyo Sriti Soudho .
National Martyrs' Memorial is 150 feet high. It has 7 isosceles triangular pyramid shaped structures, with the middle one being the taller than others. Several mass graves situated in front of monument. There are many gardens, an artificial lake, trees ponds many walkways. Natural beauty of this place is very attractive.

In front of Jatiyo Sriti Soudho you can found a fair all of articles of that shop are made by handicraftsmen. The articles are made by wood, bamboo, earthen and others. Bangladeshi potters are so skill to make their articles; they are pottery, jewellery product, show piece and others. These handicrafts are so attractive to everybody

Kantojiu temple



Kantojiu Temple is one of the Most Wonderful Temple of Bangladesh. This magnificent kantoji temple is situated in Dinajpur district of Bangladesh. This temple was built by Maharaja Pran Nath, in 1702 c.e to 1752 was construction period.  This beautiful temple is well decorate and one of the greatest example on terracotta. There present bird elephant, flower, warrior, weapon and many other art was present by artiest. After be seen this art anybody can tell they are very skilled about terracotta art.
The other name of this temple Navaratna  Mondir, the temple was built in a nava ratna style. At first time it had nine spires but all of these spires destroyed in an earthquake in 1897.
This colorful and ornamental temple attract tourist from different side one of inside of country and outside of country.

National zoo

National Zoo is situated at Mirpur in Dhaka city. It is the largest zoo in Bangladesh. This Zoo is also call Mirpur Zoo. The Zoo has many native and non native animals and birds.
The zoo established in 1974, extent with 186 acre. Every day a lot of visitors  come to visit here and  increased during the holiday.
The zoo is currently contains 2,150 animals and 191 species. It opens 10 am to 5 pm.
The zoo exhibits colorful and attractive animals like Royal Bengal Tiger, elephants, Zebras, Waterbucks, Otters, hyenas, Deer, Giraffes, Impala, Black bears, Tapirs, Hippos, Lions, many species of Monkeys, Chimpanzees, Baboons, crocodiles and others. More over the natural beauty of this place is so attractive

The Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali

Khan Jahan Ali came from Delhi to stay a Muslim camp in these wetlands in the early-15th century AD. The natural attractiveness of the region had such an effect upon him that he spent the rest of his life there.The Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali is a great historical and beautiful place.

Sixty Dome Mosque in Bagerhat

Shait Gombuj Mosque is situated in District Bagerhat. It is a big Mosque and beautiful building. The Mosque is beautifully decorated. In the middle of the many surviving monuments of the Khan Jahan Ali style, without a doubt the most wonderful and largest brick mosque in Bangladesh is the Shait Gombuj.  For extraordinary architectural importance. According to The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO distinguished Bagerhat in the World Heritage list. The original torchbearer of Islam in the south, Khan Jahan Ali came from Delhi to stay a Muslim camp in this swampland in the early-15th century AD. The natural attractiveness of the region had such an effect upon him that he used up the rest of his life there. History says that Khan Jahan Ali made about 360 mosques and as many freshwater tanks in a very short space of time. There is a big dighi near the Satgambuj Mosque. This dighi is called the Ghora Dighi. The Mosque has great attraction for the tourists and visitors

Most Beautiful places -Shaheed Minar

In 1947, Pakistan was formed with two regions, East Pakistan (also called East Bengal) and West Pakistan. The native tongue of West Pakistan is Urdu and Bangla is native tongue of East Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan ordained Urdu as the sole national language, the Bengali-speaking majority of East Pakistan protested it. As a result Pakistani Government killed many of Bengali protesters who were demanding identical status to their native language, Bangla.
A prominent Bangladeshi sculptor Mr. Hamidur Rahman made a designed of Shaheed Minar.
In 2000, UNESCO declared 21 February International Mother Language Day. In 2000 now the whole world celebrates 21st February as international mother language day.


The Fort Lalbagh

Forts - Lalbagh is an incomplete palace situated in the southwestern part of Dhaka, near Rever Buriganga. Lalbagh Fort made by Prince Muhammad Azam but he could not complete it. After his leaving Bangla his successor, Shaista Khan took the responsibility to complete this palace but did not complete the work. His (Shaista Khan ) daughter Pori Bibi died here.
Lalbagh Fort can be consigned as the sign and witness of the revolt native soldiers against the British during the Great Rebellion in 1857.

It is nice looking place to visit. The historical tomb of Pori Bibi is very nice looking. The Mosque has three -domed and a water tank. The water tank was situated on the eastern side for ablution. There is a museum which is the dwelling room of nawab shaista Khan. The Museum contains many historical things which were use by Nawab family and others. Those are weapons, coins, dress, jewelry and others. There is very beautiful walkway and garden. Really this historical Red Fort is very attractive. You are also invited to visit Lalbagh fort.

The Travel Place Ahsan Manzil

Ahsan Manzil was the old official residential palace of the Nawab Family. This historical building is situated at the banks of the Buriganga River in Bangladesh.  The Nawab palace (Ahsan Manjil) was built in 1872. This historical palace selected as well as became Museum on 20 September 1992.
This historical beauty (Ahsan Manzil) is one of the most significant architectural monuments of Bangladesh. The palace Ahsan Manzil has two parts the eastern side and western side.  Rangmahal is situated the eastern side of the building and the western side with the living rooms is called Andarmahal. More over there is a large drawing room, card room, library, state room and guest room. The palace, Ahsan Manjil was the residence of the Nawabs.  Nawab Abdul Ghani made this palace. He named it according to his his son’s name  Khaza Ahasanullah.
Design of this palace is very nice. There use attractive wooden stairs, designed iron railing, wooden ceiling of the room, decorated with geometric designs, is very elegant. Verandas and rooms are covered with marble, use multi-colored glasses in inner door. Wooden beams supported the roof of these rooms. The architecture and the decoration are very nice of the place.
Now Ahsan  Manzil has become a popular tourist attraction Museum of Dhaka city.
Visitors have the opportunity to see this historical beauty (Ahsan Manzil). This museum reflects its grandeur and along with that the beautiful place reflects the activities that took place in the past.
